Brazilian man mistakenly slaps porcupine… surprisingly, it doesn’t end well
There is nothing more satisfying that bearing witness to instant karma. What we wouldn’t have given to have had front row seats for Antonio Rodrigues Mororó’s unfortunate run-in with a porcupine last week. The 50-year old man, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was hosting a party at his house. We assume it was a party well-supplied with alcohol, judging by what happened.
Mororó’s revery was broken when a female guest became distressed and refused to enter the house on account of the doorway being blocked by some sort of critter. Ever the man of the hour, Mororó stepped forward, confident that the animal was a harmless opossum, and delivered a resounding slap to its rear.
Now, sadly, we have no documentation of the event as it happened, only a record of the immediate aftermath. Rather than knocking the offending creature aside and establishing himself as alpha male once and for all, Mororó was immediately confronted with the fact that the opossum was not in fact an opossum at all, but was actually a porcupine. Secondly, and as a result of this revelation, Mororó was rewarded with over 400 barbed quills embedded in the palm of his hand.
He was rushed to the emergency room and given an anesthetic before the quills were removed. The physical pain may be over, but rest assured that the name Antonio Rodrigues Mororó will forever be synonymous with drunkenness, animal cruelty and straight up stupidity.

An opossum, a porcupine, what happens when you slap the latter
