Hot on the heels of Facebook’s secret news feed experiment that looked at how emotional contagion through social networks changed people’s moods in response to filtered news feeds, artist Lauren McCarthy created Facebook Mood Manipulator, a Chrome browser extension that taps into the same Linguistic Inquiry Word Count (LIWC) system used by the Facebook study. Here you can choose to select what kind of posts you want in a deliberately self-controlled process and see if you feel any different.
