Recreating childhood photos are nothing new, but this whole ‘conscious awkwardness’ thing has been catching on in recent years. Which makes the earnestness of Irina Werning’s Back to the Future series, that has her helping to recreate childhood snaps of people, even more amazing. It sounds like a serious deal (“I love old photos… (so) I started inviting people to go back to their future”), but some, of course end up a wee bit awkward. Such is life.
