Cough up US$400,000 and you can have your very own township, called Swett in rural, southwestern South Dakota to be exact. In the 1940s, the town was bustling with 40 people, a few houses, a post office and a grocery store.
What remains now is a bar, a workshop, three trailers and a house where the current town owner Lance Benson lives with his wife. But you won’t be lacking in company as the watering hole is a gathering place for local cowboys and wheat farmers within a 10-mile radius.
