Women are given pink parking spots in China that are 30cm wider than regular spaces
That debate about who’s a better driver–men or women–well, now we know who wins in the eyes of China’s World Metropolis Center (WMC). They’ve just laid out 10 new parking spaces intended for women only. And to top it off, they’re painted pink. A bright ‘girly’ pink. The reason for dedicating these parking spaces wasn’t meant to cause cries of discrimination but rather to provide women with a more luxurious shopping experience. But you have to wonder about the mall’s intention. After all, each parking space is about 30 centimetres wider than the average parking spot.
What are they trying to say? If they’re trying to make a point that women are worse drivers than men, eat this information: the World Health Organization in 2013 found that globally, males are more likely to be involved in accidents than females, and 77 percent of all road traffic deaths occur among men.
