Funerals with posed bodies, we’ve just learnt, are apparently all the rage in New Orleans. Here, the Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home caters to clients’ requests to be posed in exactly the way they wish to be seen at the wake, while the living say their goodbyes. Rather than settling for lying in a coffin on their back, requests have ranged from a boxer standing up in a fake boxing ring; to women holding up a glass of bubbly or wine, just as they usually do while living. What a way to exit the world.
