Wattoluempiade, or Mud Olympics, is an annual event held in the northern German city of Brunsbuettel. Each year about 500 athletes take part in soccer, volleyball, handball and other events, all to be competed in the muddy tidal flats common to the north German coast. Apart from the fun and laughter aplenty, this large scale mud bath is all for a good cause, with money raised going towards a cancer relief organization.
