Woman had herself Photoshopped in over 25 countries to clear up a beauty misconception

Woman had herself Photoshopped in over 25 countries to clear up a beauty misconception
Is there really an international beauty standard? This is what Esther Honig, a 24-year-old radio journalist in Kansas City, Missouri seek to find out about how people around the globe define female beauty. She started by sending her self-portrait to a designer in Sri Lanka with the simple request, ‘Hi, my name is Esther Honig. Make me look beautiful’.
The result was a Photoshopped image of Esther with pink lips and green eyeshadow. Encouraged, she began sending her self-portrait to Photoshoppers all over the world and has received them back from her ‘beauticians’ in 27 countries so far. Looking at her many makeovers, ‘There’s so much to be told through this experiment’, she says. ‘It’s me, but it’s not me. It’s everyone.’
