In Sri Lanka, reading the news will keep these darned mozzies away
Mosquitoes are never fun — and in Sri Lanka, which has been facing a dengue fever epidemic (over 30,000 were infected last year alone), these annoying bug bites and buzzing are even less of a laughing matter. Recently, one of the nation’s newspapers, Mawbina, in conjunction with a public awareness campaign together with Leo Burnett Sri Lanka, printed its morning and evening papers with ink mixed with citronella — a natural mosquito repellent — on World Health Day. While this appears to be a one-off initiative, it definitely seems like an idea that could go pretty far… any takers?
