We are not kidding. A private university in Chicago has been dangling scholarships that are worth up to US$19,000 per student at avid players of League of Legends. The video game has quickly become one of the most fiercely battled amongst organized team competitions.
Robert Morris University Illinois has confirmed that it recognizes this growing legitimacy of what are known as “eSports" and so, starting this fall, the university will be offering scholarships which will provide up to 50 percent of tuition and 50 percent of room and board. It’s the perfect excuse to ask your mom to give you some space as you perfect your game.
