Despite what your eyes may be screaming at you, these photos haven’t been manipulated in the slightest. At first it’s hard to get your head round what you’re seeing, but once it all clicked into place we bet you let loose an embarrassingly loud snort of laughter.
French photographer Patrice Letarnec has taken a very literal approach to the phrase ‘head over heels’. Just to be clear the interpretation is down to the fact that he’s a witty fellow and not because it’s a second language. Luckily for us, Letarnec clearly has a powerful sense of humour and strong eye for visual trickery.
The series, shot on the streets of Paris, is sublimely hilarious and collates images of various models with their clothes on upside down but doing hand-stands so that they appear not only to be headless, but also to have legs in the place of arms and vice versa.
In our opinion, we think that a photo of each model standing the right way up and with their clothes upside down should accompany ‘head over heels’. Just because…
