While on a recent trip to Costa Rica, photographer Chris Morgan captured these stunning close-up images of humming birds. While most of us have seen hummingbirds in action on National Geographic, there’s just something mesmerizing about seeing these energetic creatures finally hold still through photographs. In these images, we could take time to appreciate the spectrum of colors reflected in their feathers, even as they face off against each other.
‘The hummingbirds were so tempting to photograph to the point of madness! Eventually with patience you get quite close, and I love seeing the details of these little guys’, says Morgan. You can see more of Morgan’s works, which include lots of bird-spotting photos, over on Flickr.
